Tuesday 15th November 6.30pm at City University, Northampton Square, EC1V 0HB
All welcome to the AGM of Islington People’s Rights [IPR] at City University on Tuesday 15th November at 6.30pm. The AGM is more like a Public Meeting, and this year’s theme will be “The Cost of Living crisis”, which is affecting so many local residents, notably our service users. Our confirmed guest speakers for this year’s AGM are:
- Jeremy Corbyn MP [Islington North] who has been championing local causes and people’s rights in Islington for many years and is a long-time friend and supporter of IPR.
- Chilli Reid, the Executive Director of Advice UK, whose background is debt advice and whose insights and expertise in this field will be highly relevant to the current Cost of Living crisis.
- Cllr Diarmaid Ward, Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Finance of Islington Council, who will be speaking about how the Cost of Living crisis has affected Islington residents.
Other speakers also invited, but yet to be confirmed.
The Chief Executive of IPR, Gerard Omasta-Milsom, will also reflect on IPR’s past year and activities, and look to the year ahead. After the speakers and formal parts of the meeting there will be refreshments and a chance to mingle with trustees, staff, partners and clients.
